Our Vineyards
Our vineyards are the lifeblood of our wines. We have carefully tended their 4 acres for over 30 years in order to showcase cold-hardy grape varieties and create our locally-grown and produced wines. We have two vineyards on our grounds, together growing 1600 vines of Marechal Foch and varieties that were developed by the University of Minnesota specifically for our climate: Marquette, Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, Frontenac Blanc, and La Crescent. We welcome you to stroll through them on your next visit! We only ask that you leave the grapes for our harvest and pack out anything you bring with you.
More than Meets the Eye
You'll find more than these six varieties of grapes in our vineyards! We also grow experimental grape varieties for the U of M, and some other plants entirely. Look for roses that help us notice the first signs of powdery mildew and edibles such as chives and raspberries that bring in pollinators. Grapes only need the wind to pollinate, but we love to encourage insect pollinators anyways.
